Cookie Policy
Last updated May 29, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how HotelDip uses cookies and similar technologies on hoteldip.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We keep cookies to a minimum and do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work in comparable ways. They can be set by us (first-party) or by a third-party service we use (third-party), and they can last for a single session or persist between visits.
How we use cookies
| Category | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Clerk (auth) | Keep you signed in and protect your session. Required for accounts, saved searches, and alerts. |
| Security and reliability | Cloudflare, HotelDip | Help protect against abuse, balance load, and deliver the site reliably. |
| Functional (maps) | Google Maps | When destination autocomplete loads, Google may set cookies to provide and secure the maps service. |
| Affiliate attribution | Travelpayouts / partner | When you click a “Book” link, the partner may set cookies on its own site to attribute a booking to us. |
Strictly necessary cookies
Our authentication provider (Clerk) sets cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect your session. Without these, sign-in, saved searches, and alerts will not work. These cookies do not require consent because the Service cannot function without them.
Third-party cookies
Some features load third-party services that may set their own cookies under their own policies: Google Maps (destination autocomplete) and, after you click through, our booking partners via Travelpayouts/Hotellook. Affiliate attribution happens on the partner’s site and is how this free Service is funded.
What we do not use
We do not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics that build a profile of you across sites. If we introduce cookies that require consent, we will ask for it and update this page.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you refuse third-party cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and account features. Refer to your browser’s help pages for instructions.
Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service changes. We will revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
